Great Bentley Village Hall is the home base. The village Green and the local businesses round it are the heart of the evening.
Great Bentley Village HallKeep it going
The village backed keeping the nights. These six things are how we make sure it stays that way.
Ride in and out with care and respect for everyone on the Green.
No unnecessary revving, speeding, or behaviour that puts the future of the night at risk.
Respect residents, marshals, volunteers and the event layout at all times.
Keep access points and emergency routes clear.
Use the bins, respect the village, and help leave the Green in good order.
If a marshal or organiser gives guidance, follow it straight away.
All riders, all bikes
Friends, families and fellow riders, sharing stories and looking over each other's bikes. In 2026 the traders came onto the Green too, building a weekly bike event rather than just a standard bike meet.
Vendors can change week to week. Check Facebook for who's on.
"Hundreds of bikers roar into this small Essex village every week."
The association
As the nights grew, insurers and risk specialists told Great Bentley Parish Council the bike nights had to be either banned or properly managed. The council asked for a management group, and in 2025 a group of bikers and residents set up the Great Bentley Bike Night Association to keep them going.
It's run as a not-for-profit and stays open with the parish council, down to the bank records. A charity application (Foundation CIO) is in progress.
For a lot of riders the night is a social anchor: a regular place to talk, be around friends, and feel part of something. That, and road safety, are what the association is for.
